Abstract
Objective: This study was carried out to examine the effects of Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) on anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-febrile on the arthritis.

Methods and Materials: Each of the 8 rats were classified into normal, control, sample groups in the experiments about anti-inflammatory and anti-febrile. Each of the 8 mice were classified into normal, control, sample groups in the experiments about analgesic. Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) was administered to sample group and normal saline was administered to normal and control groups. Arthritis was induced by injection of 1% carrageenan 0.1§¢ and Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) was administerd after 30 minutes. WBC, ESR and CRP were measured by heart puncture and NO in urine was measured in 24 hours urine. Synovium of rat¡¯s knee was cultured with carrageenan and Dulbico¡¯s modified Eagle¡¯s medium and re-cultured with 2% Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) for 72 hours and NO in synoviocytes was measured. Writhing syndrome was measured by Whittle¡¯s method in the experiments about analgesic. Rectal temperature was measured by Yeast¡¯s method in the experiments about anti-febrile.

Conclusions:
1. It was recognized that Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) has an anti-inflammatory effect in.
2. It was recognized that Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) effectively decreases rectal temperature.
3. It was recognized that Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) has an effectively analgesic function on the artificial arthritis resulted from carrageenan.
According to the above results, it can be concluded Chungyeulsaseip-tang(Qingrexieshi-tang) showed the treatment effects on the artificial arthritis resulted from carageenan in rats and mice and it is suggested that more interest and study in the security for the clinical use were needed.
